Hey guys! So unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard of the Wish App everyone seems to be obsessed over. To refresh your memory, it's an app/website that has tons and tons of cheap stuff that gets shipped from places like China. They have all sorts of stuff, ranging from fashion, phone upgrades, makeup etc. I couldn't help but give it a try because I love a good bargain, so I want to let you know my experience, as well as share a few tips.
One of the reasons everything is so cheap is because it is being sent from Asian countries. As a result, the shipping time can be extremely slow and take up to a month. However, you are getting a MASSIVE saving so you can't complain too much!
I ordered a few things, including a t-shirt, eyelashes and chokers. All came before the estimated shipping time but it varied product to product as to how quick delivery was. I am actually impressed with everything I purchased and have already made another cheeky order! But I have picked up a few tips whilst shopping on the app.
1. Read reviews
This is the biggest and most obvious tip. Because the app has different sellers, the consistency of service can vary. You want to make sure you read a lot of reviews on the product to make sure it is legit. A lot of reviews have useful information, e.g. on sizing, whether it is true to the picture and shipping times. So make sure the product has positive reviews before you buy.
2. Order a size up
As most products are from Asian countries, the sizing is also Asian. This means they are going to typically be smaller then your usual size. Check the reviews, but for most clothing items it is safer if you order a size up. For reference, I ordered a size L t-shirt which I would suggest is a UK size 12.
3. Order only if there are at least 100 reviews
Again, you want to make sure you are buying from a reputable seller. I would suggest not to order anything unless it has at least 100 reviews. This way, you know the product has been successfully sent and reviewed by many people.
4. Check pictures in reviews
You actually get extra points on the app if you leave reviews with a picture. So most products on the app will have pictures along with reviews. Try and look for pictures so you can assess yourself the quality and likeness to the picture they are advertising. You can also see if clothing is see through and any defaults.
5. Check you are getting the cheapest price
A lot of products will be sold by many different sellers. It's good when you find a product you like to shop around and make sure you are getting it from the cheapest seller. Don't forget to account for shipping costs too!
So these are a few of my tips for shopping on the Wish App. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to save some money, just make sure you are more cautious with your purchases as to not be disappointed!
